A UK patient who was admitted to the Royal Berkshire Hospital on Wednesday evening and tested positive for COVID-19 has sadly died.
The patient is the first UK patient to die from the coronavirus.
It’s understood that the patient had been in and out of hospital for other health problems over the past number of weeks but that they died from Covid-19.
The vast majority of coronavirus cases are in China with 31 people dying in the last 24 hours.
A total of 115 people have now been diagnosed with coronavirus in the UK. They head UK Medical Officer said that those affected have either been overseas or gotten infected from someone who was in contact with someone who went overseas.
Japan say that at least 1,000 people have been infected. The World Health Organisation say that they’re not happy with some countries reacting to the coronavirus.
Japan, UAE and Iraq say they’re closing their schools for the next number of weeks.
