In the early hours of this morning, the body of a man in his 40s was discovered at Rockview Terrace, Doneraile, Mallow, Co Cork.
State Pathologist Dr. Margot Bolster has been called to examine the scene, where the body remains. Gardaà are investigating all circumstances surrounding the death.
A Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) is leading the investigation, with an incident room set up at Mallow Garda Station. A Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been assigned to support the family. The Garda Technical Bureau has been requested to assist at the scene.
Gardaà are appealing for witnesses and seeking camera footage, including dashcam recordings, from Doneraile village between midnight and 2 a.m. today. Anyone with information is urged to contact Mallow Garda Station at 022 31450, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 66-61-11, or any Garda Station.
