In what will undoubtedly become one of the most talked about US Elections in US history is possibly coming to an end tonight.
The US Supreme Court has rejected the Texas case which may see an end to President Trump’s legal challenges.
The Supreme Court’s action came in a one-page order, which said that the complaint was denied “for lack of standing.”
“Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections,” the court wrote.
Justice Samuel Alito was with Justice Clarence Thomas and wrote that in their view the court does “not have discretion to deny the filing of a bill of complaint in a case that falls within our original jurisdiction.”
“I would therefore grant the motion to file the bill of complaint but would not grant other relief, and I express no view on any other issue,” Alito wrote.
What President Trump does next to try and stop Joe Biden from, in his words, “stealing the election” is anyone’s guess.
