Some heartwarming pictures have emerged of Davitt Walsh, the hero of Buncrana, cradling baby Rioghnach-Ann, the infant whom he saved from certain death at the pier.
He met with the baby’s mother also, before attending the funeral for the five victims of the tragedy.
28-year-old Davitt Walsh has received messages of support from all around the world, after the news of his heroic act spread through social media.
All five victims were laid to rest today.
Sean McGrotty, 46, died along with his two sons Mark, 12, and Evan, 8, when their SUV sank after sliding off a slipway at the pier. The boy’s grandmother Ruth Daniels, 57, and her 15-year-old daughter Jodie Lee Daniels also died in the tragic incident.
