The UK’s Foreign Secretary has warned that persecution of Christians in some parts of the world is at near “genocide” levels.
Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt’s comments come just weeks after hundreds of Christian were murdered by Muslim terrorists in a series of co-ordinated suicide bomb attacks against Churches and hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.
A report order by the Foreign Secretary found that Christians were the most persecuted religious group in the world.
This report echoes United Nations which last year also declared Christianity to be the most persecuted faith group on Earth.
The report, led by the Bishop of Truro the Right Reverend Philip Mounstephen, showed that genocidal violence against Christians in the Middle East since the start of Iraq war means that the region may soon be depopulated of Christians.
Christians also face increasing hostility in the West from secular governments that who for some unknown reason conversely take extreme steps to supress and punish any speech or thought critical of Islam.
Foreign Secretary Hunt said that “political correctness” has played a role in the issue not being confronted.
“Evidence shows not only the geographic spread of anti-Christian persecution, but also its increasing severity”, the Bishop Mounstephen wrote.
Meanwhile, as Western governments allow Muslims to mass migrate into their countries, they have been exceptionally reluctant to allow Christians from regions such as the Middle East to take up asylum.
In 2018 the UK refused to give asylum to Asia Bibi a Pakistani Christian mother of five who had to flee her home after Muslim religious leaders called for her murder when Pakistani court overturned her death sentence for alleged blasphemy against Mohamed.
The UK government said it feared violence from adherents of the “religion of peace” in its country if it gave shelter to the hunted woman.
Christians are also being slaughtered in huge numbers on a regular basis in several parts of Africa, particularly Nigeria while Western media ignores these atrocities and panders to Muslims.
