Church say Easter could have a fixed date within 5 to 10 years

It as been reported that the Catholic Church is considering the possibility of having a fixed date for Easter within the next 5 to 10 years.

The news comes after the Pope said he is open to possibility of changing the date of Easter so that all Christians could have a unified celebration. The move now has seemingly made a Ste forward after the Archbishop of Canterbury has said that Anglicans will happily join Catholics and Copts for talks to resolve the issue. It is believed that the Coptic Orthodox Pope Tawadros II wrote to the papal nuncio in Egypt also suggesting a unified date. That request comes as Orthodox churches usually celebrate Easter a week after Catholics.

The date of Easter is normally determined by the phases of the moon, meaning that Easter Sunday falls on the first full moon after the spring equinox. That subsequently means that Easter can occur anytime between March 22 and April 25. Easter Sunday this year will occur March 27.
