Convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell says infamous Prince Andrew photo is fake

Ghislaine Maxwell has claimed that the famous photo of Prince Andrew together with Virginia Giuffre and himself is fake.

The disgraced British socialite, 61, convicted of sex trafficking and soliciting girls for billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, has previously questioned the image, which shows the Duke of York with his arm around Ms Giuffre and her on the background.

Speaking from US prison, Maxwell said she was “sure” the photo, allegedly taken at her Mayfair home, wasn’t real.

In an interview with TalkTV, Maxwell said, “It’s a fake. I don’t believe it’s real for a second, in fact I’m sure it’s not. Well, there’s never been an original and further there’s no photograph, and I’ve only ever seen a photocopy of it,” reports Metro.

Andrew also questioned the validity of the photo of him with wife Giuffre, formerly known as Virginia Roberts.

The duke went on to pay millions to settle a civil sexual assault case involving Mrs Giuffre, a woman he claims he has never met.

Ms Giuffre is suing Andrew for allegedly sexually assaulting her when she was 17 after being trafficked by Epstein, who was Maxwell’s partner between 1994 and 2004. Andrew has denied the claims.

In an interview with BBC Newsnight in 2019, Andrew said that while he recognized himself in the photo with Ms Giuffre, he said it was not possible to prove whether the picture was fake.

He also claimed that the photo could not have been taken in London as he was in his “travelling clothes”.

Ms Giuffre insisted to BBC Panorama that the photo was “authentic” and she said she gave the original to the FBI in 2011.

Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison last year after being found guilty of luring girls into massage parlors so Epstein could harass them.

Epstein was found dead in his cell at a Manhattan federal prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His death was ruled a suicide.
