Cork County Council is reportedly looking to recoup €22,000 euro following the cancellation of a St. Patrick’s Day trip to the US.
It understood that five councillors and four other officials were due to travel to Chicago, Detroit, and New York, in March. Just over €35,000 was spent on travel arrangements.
Seven of the original nine did travel, but were forced to return 24h later after lockdown was imposed back in Ireland due to the pandemic.
The council is now reportedly looking to get a refund of at least €22,000.
