Health authorities have said that 1,403 cases of coronavirus were detected in children aged 12 or younger in a 14-day period here in Ireland.
The cases were confirmed in the 14-day period up to February 27th.
It is understood that 28 children out of these cases were admitted to hospital, but none required intensive care.
