Covid-19: Boris Johnson expected to delay the end of lockdown in the UK for at least 4 weeks

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to delay the end of lockdown in the UK for at least 4 weeks.

Lockdown was scheduled to end across the UK on June 21, but the new date is now likely to be July 19.

The country has seen a dramatic increase in new Covid-19 infections over the past few days. This increase has been blamed on the prevalence of the Delta (Indian) variant.
