The coronavirus crisis in Ireland is deepening today, after it was confirmed that four members of a family were diagnosed with the potentially deadly disease following a recent visit to Italy.
The family is believed to be based in Co. Clare. It is understood that a primary school linked to the family has been closed for two weeks as a precaution.
The number of coronavirus cases in Ireland now stands at nine, but that figure is likely to grow significantly over the coming days.
