The Irish National Teachers Organisation (INTO) has said that successive cuts made to special education have devastated primary schools.
During a conference in Limerick today, the INTO stated that the amount of time available to children in need of extra resource hours has been steadily reduced by as much as 15%. The organization has also leveled criticism at the reduction in teachers numbers and the excessively high pupil-to-teacher ratios nationwide.
INTO president Sean McMahon said that cuts to special education need to be reversed with immediate effect.
