In a truly disgraceful incident last night, Dublin Fire Brigade confirm one of their emergency service ambulances was put out of action for almost 3 hours due to a drunkard smashing a bottle through one of its windows and doing his best to get on board the ambulance as a patient was being carried to hospital.
The incident was just one of many thug-attacks on the emergency services last night.
Over 700 calls were logged to the emergency services between 4pm yesterday and 8am this morning.
A spokesperson said:
“This was highly dangerous and a very disgusting affair. The man who smashed the bottle and tried to gain access to the ambulance was putting numerous lives in danger as well as holding up the emergency services for almost 3 hours as the ambulance was having its window repaired. People need to have more consideration irrespective or Halloween or any special occasion”.
