There is widespread anger this evening, after the statue of the late musician Luke Kelly was defaced yet again.
The statue, erected in memory of the renowned Dubliner and sited on Sheriff Street in North Dublin, had red paint sprayed on it. Thugs had also done similar damage in January and March of this year.
It is understood that Dublin City Council will soon install CCTV cameras in the vicinity of the monument to monitor the area.
