Kids will be kids but sometimes even that’s not an excuse.

There have been reports that up to 100 teenagers have been violent, drunk, disorderly and even abusive to parade goers in Drogheda’s town centre this St. Patrick’s Day.

Independent Councilor Kevin Callan posted on his Facebook that some of the teenagers even needed medical attention with an ambulance called to the centre of the town.

Callan said that it wasn’t the gardai or council’s fault and that parents were responsible telling people to get their teenagers home and away from the carnage.

Callan posted the following message and asked people to share it with their friends:
“I have just come from West Street where there are close to 100 teenagers, some violent, some drunk, some abusive and some in need of medical attention. I and others have had to call the Gardai and emergency services in particular an ambulance.

If your teenager is in Drogheda and not causing trouble they may fall victim to it so get them home. This is going on most of the day and is absolutely disgraceful.

No need to blame the Gardai or the council, the individuals I have witnessed today behaving this way are all underage and the responsibility of their parents.”
