Dublin City Council place swimming ban at beaches following overflow at Ringsend wastewater treatment plant

Dublin City Council have confirmed that a swimming ban has been put in place at a number of beaches.

It is understood the ban has been put in place following an overflow at a wastewater treatment plant in Ringsend.

Dublin City Council say the ban will apply to Dollymount Strand, Dublin Bay, Seapoint, Sandycove and the Forty Foot beaches.

They also say that it will apply to Sandymount and Merrion beaches.

It is believed that the ban will remain in place until waters deemed safe following relevant testing.
