A 56-year-old Sudanese man working for the United Nations has succumbed to Ebola while hospitalized in Germany. He had become infected while carrying out field work in Liberia, the worst-hit Ebola country.
He was being treated in a secure isolation ward in St. Georg’s hospital in Leipzig, but sadly passed away last night.
One other Ebola-infected patient remains in hospital in Frankfurt.
This latest death of a medical staff member once again raises the question of how prepared medical officials are to deal with the deadly disease.
