An expert speaking to Sky News has claimed that the horrific damage caused to the magical Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris last night could take up to 20 years to repair.
Extensive damage was caused to the most famous Cathedral in the world when a fire broke out at around 5pm Irish time on Monday.
French authorities worked tirelessly to get the fire under control, but alas, it’s still burning this morning with what’s being described as devastating damage to the roof, spire and back of the Cathedral.
Experts are estimating the cost of repair to be in excess of €100 million with a possible 20 year project for restoration.
Not only would Catholics want to see the building fully restored, the Cathedral is a major tourist attraction and would pay its way over time with a full restoration budget.
