Fine Gael once again say that they will not go into government with Sinn Fein

It looks like Fine Gael are putting it right up to Sinn Fein and demanding that they now try to form some sort of government and deliver on the “extraordinary promises” that they made during the general election campaign.

The caretaker Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said that it is “preparing to go into Opposition”.

The Fine Gael parliamentary party have agreed that they will not go into government with Sinn Fein declaring that Sinn Fein are not a democratic party.

Varadkar left the door open for Sinn Fein to try and form a government but backed it up by saying that Fianna Fail would have to form its own government should Sinn Fein fail to do so.
