Fine Gael’s Francis Fitzgerald accused of “faking missing dog story” to get votes

The former Tanaiste, Fine Gael’s Francis Fitzgerald has been accused of faking a missing dog rescue story for political gain.

Fitzgerald has been accused of looking for votes after she allegedly misled the public to think that she found a missing dog and helped relocate it.

However, after Fitzgerald posted a picture of the dog on Twitter, a member of the public claims she actually found the dog and that she asked Fitzgerald for a lend of her phone who subsequently grabbed the dog for a photo opportunity.

The missing dog turned out to be fellow former Tánaiste, Senator Michael McDowell but the real story is that Fitzgerald’s people say she found him but the member of the public says she did.
