A Japanese fisherman recently used his martial arts expertise to ward off an attacking bear.
Atsushi Aoki, reportedly aged in his 60s, recently found himself becoming the unwanted object of attention of a 6ft-long Asian Bear.
Mr. Aoki was fishing when the creature approached him and lunged at him. Undaunted, the fisherman adopted a defensive stance and fought the bear off with some well-aimed karate kicks into the creature’s eyes. The bear ran off when faced with such fierce opponent.
The man sustained injuries to his head, hands, and torso, but was able to drive himself to the nearest hospital, and even had enough judgement to gather the catch of the day.
