Regional airline Flybe has collapsed into administration, grounding all flights with immediate effect.
The airline, Europe’s largest independent airline, ceased all operations in the early hours of Thursday morning after running out of financial options.
Flybe had narrowly avoided bankruptcy earlier this year after emergency funds were provided by the British Government.
The airline blamed the collapse on a number of reasons, including a sharp slump in bookings due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Flybe’s demise means that over 2,000 jobs are now at risk of being lost.
