We’re living in frightening times when children can’t be out playing by themselves or walking home from school unaided by an adult, however, it appears that’s how it is.
Police in the north have confirmed that a 46-yr-old man has been charged with a total of six counts of attempted child abduction in Derry. The accused was arrested on Friday after police became aware of a man acting suspiciously towards children in Strathfoyle shortly after 4:30pm.
It’s understood that a number of concerned citizens managed to apprehend the man and keep him at the scene until police arrived. He was later taken to hospital.
The accused it due to appear at Derry Magistrates Court this morning.
