GAA club recognises young players fitness and commitment by presenting her with a 10KG bag of spuds

St Michaels Gaelic Football Club in Kells, County Meath presented one of the players with a 10KG bag of potatoes.

Laura Halpin, a talented player recently played three matches for the club over a five day period as a member of both the Senior and Junior panels.

Having displayed fitness levels “that would put most inter-county players to shame, Laura completed three matches in a period of five days – two were for the juniors and the other was a senior league match reports the Irish Mirror.

The club’s PRO explained why the 10KG bag of potatoes was presented to Miss Halpin “The Sheridan family are large potato growers in North Meath and Laura Halpin who is on both the St. Michaels senior and junior panels had just finished her third match in five days ( 2 x junior & 1 x senior league matches) when the “player of the week’ presentation was made by the Sheridan siblings and their St. Michaels team-mates. The ‘presentation’ was instigated for a bit of fun says the PRO.

Well done Laura, you’re some girl for one girl!
