Gardai say they’ll take drink off people this bank holiday weekend if they don’t behave

Gardai have announced that they’ll intervene if large groups of people congregate in cities and towns around the country this bank holiday weekend.

They say that they will not hesitate to take drink off people in public places who are not adhering to the guidelines, which many people believe to be so-called “draconian measures implemented by the government and NPHET”.

Regardless of this, gardai say that they’ll be out in force and will storm any gatherings that are taking place, confiscating drink and even arresting people who aren’t playing by the restrictive guidelines.

Many people believe that this is a step too far and that people should be allowed enjoy themselves in the sunshine considering NPHET and the government said that it would be an “outdoor summer” for Ireland this year.
