Gardai will be given greater powers to seize quad bikes and scramblers that have been used in public places.
Under the new legislation brought forward by the Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan Gardai will be allowed to seize the vehicles that have been used in public places.
The new laws will also require landowners to give a specific reason as to why they are being used on their private land.
It is understood that the new laws pare being introduced in ab effort to cut down on fatal accidents caused by the recreational vehicles in public areas.
