Gardai are warning elderly residents to be aware of a gang going around posing as An Post workers with the intention of gaining entry to properties.
It’s a nationwide warning but it comes after gardai were alerted to recent incidents of this occurring in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.
It is understood that several such incidents have occurred in recent days.
The suspects are believed to be an all-male gang targeting the elderly under the pretense of ‘examining Euro notes’.
Gardai have asked people to share this information with their friends, especially their elderly neighbours and family.
Gardai are asking for any suspicious activity to be reported to Letterkenny Garda Station on 074-91-67-100 or the Confidential Line on 1800-66-61-11.
