Singer Sam Smith has said that he now wants to be recognised as they or them after revealing thar he doesn’t identify as either male or female.
Smith, 27, who previously suggested that he doesn’t identify as either gender early this year confirmed their decision in a post on Instagram.
In the post Smith said: I’ve decided I am changing my pronouns to THEY/THEM.
“After a lifetime of being at war with my gender I’ve decided to embrace myself for who I am, inside and out.”
“I’m excited to surrounded by people who support me and my decision, but I have been very announcing this as I care what people think but f**k it.”
The singer who has had a string of hits also said they realises that there may be some mistakes in terms of gender in the future, but said hoped people would try not to and appreciate how they see themselves now.
