An elderly woman in the UK has been barred by a charity shop for “causing too much trouble”.

According to the Metro, 87-year-old Brenda Forrest explained that staff at her local charity shop told her she would have to leave the shop when she asked other customers to tell her how much certain items cost due to the fact that she couldn’t see the amount herself.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Brenda said that she was trying to buy a shirt for her 91-year-old husband Lesley when some of the people working in the shop told her that if she didn’t leave they would “phone the police”.

Brenda, who is deaf and recently out of hospital, described her shock when she was told to leave. She was told that she was in the shop every week “causing trouble”. She couldn’t think of anything that she had done wrong, but wondered if the problem was that she sometimes asks other customers to tell her the price of things in the shop.

Staff previously spoke to her when she discussed the delivery cost of a chest of drawers that she had bought. At the time she was told that it would cost £20 to deliver it to her house but she said that she was told by a manager not to discuss costs like that with other customers.
The story shocked Brenda’s family and all those who heard about it. Tell us your thoughts in the Facebook post and share this with your friends.
