Government reconsidering ban on elderly care homes switching to refugee accommodation centres as scramble to house migrants intensifies

The government may be about to lift the ban on nursing homes had transferred their business to accommodating refugees the Irish Independent has reported.

With increasing numbers of hotels pulling out of deals with the government to provide accommodation to refugees and asylum seekers the political establishment is in search for new facilities to act as temporary plantations while more permanent settlements are constructed for the “New Irish”.

The moratorium on elderly care homes that were closing but still registered operators with the Health Information and Quality Authority on or after September 1 last, could not enter into a contract to transfer their business to looking after refugees will be re-examined by the government later this month the Irish Independent reports.

Despite the already unprecedented housing and homelessness crisis set to dramatically worsen in the coming weeks and months, following the lifting of the eviction ban, the government have determined that ongoing efforts to supplant the indigenous Irish population must continue.

Local Authorities are already busily seeking out potential sites for “No Irish Need Apply” modular housing developments, that will reportedly have life spans of up to 60 years, which while funded by Irish taxes and build in Ireland, Irish people, hard pressed for housing will be forbidden from living in.

While these modular housing projects are underway the demand for temporary accommodation for the planters will only become more intense.

The government’s “Offer a Home” scheme which offers members of the public €800 tax free payment per month for housing a Ukrainian in a spare room or a vacant home they own has had only limited success.
