Harris is yet again under immense pressure after enormous public concern over the disastrous cervicalcheck scandal. It’s been reportedly internationally at this stage after the unnecessary scandal, cancer and deaths of so many women.
A total of 80,000 women have been offered a free repeat smear test – something that’s difficult enough to go through in the first place. Neither the chief medical officer or director of cervicalcheck was in the favour of the blank offer.
Harris how come under pressure from all parties as a result of this blank offer. Ireland is 20th out of 27 countries for access to new medications. The HSE is under financial pressure and has a 3 month recruitment freeze.
