James Corden has apologized after he was banned from a restaurant when the owner accused him of mistreating his staff.
Apparently, the Late Late Show host had the wrong meal while he was eating at the famous Balthazar restaurant, owned by restaurateur Keith McNally, in New York.
McNally said Corden, 44, was insulting his staff and ordered two free rounds of drinks to make up for the confusion.
As a result, the comedian was kicked out of the restaurant, and McNally also claimed that the star misbehaved at another of his locations.
However, in an update on Monday, the businessman claimed to have had a phone call with the Cats actor who expressed remorse for his alleged behavior.
“James Corden just called me and apologized profusely,” McNally wrote in an Instagram post, reported Mirror. Having been more bankrupt than most people, I’m a big believer in second chances. So if James Corden allows me to host his Late Late Show for 9 months, I will immediately cancel his ban on Balthazar.
“No, of course not. But….anyone magnanimous enough to apologize to a deadbeat layabout like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned from anywhere. Especially Balthazar. So Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy” Jimmy Corden, reported Mirror.
According to Mirror, in his original post, McNally, 71, shared two examples of Corden’s alleged outbursts, writing, “ames Corden is a Hugely gifted comedian, but a tiny Cretin of a man. And the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago.”
Describing in detail an alleged incident rumored to have occurred in June, he added: “Corden was extremely mean to G and said, ‘Get us another round of drinks this second. And also take care of all of our drinks so far. This way I write any nasty reviews in yelp or anything like that,” reports Mirror.
Mirror reported another incident is said to have occurred in October when Corden allegedly became frustrated when he was served his wife’s order of an egg yolk omelet with “a little bit of egg white mixed with the egg yolk.”
Mirror reported, McNally said: The kitchen remade the dish but unfortunately sent it with home fries instead of salad. That’s when James Corden began yelling like crazy to the server: “You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go into the kitchen and cook the omelette myself!.” MK was very apologetic and led G. to the table. He returned the plate and everything was fine after that.
