The Minister for Social Protection heather Humphreys has said that the Tanaiste Leo Varadkar shouldn’t step aside from his role whilst a Garda investigation into the GP contract leak is ongoing.
Speaking to RTE’s This Week in Politics programme, Humphreys said that the Tanaiste should absolutely not step aside from his position.
Humphreys told the programme that the Tanaiste made his position clear last November and that his actions was an error of judgement.
She also said that the Tanaiste had nothing to gain by leaking the contract and what he did was in the interests of patients and the general public.
