Met Eireann has issued a nationwide weather warning due to strong winds and heavy rain, and the possibility of snow.
The warning will kick in at noon on Wednesday and remain in place until 7am on Thursday.
Wind gusts of up to 110km/h are expected at times, accompanied by heavy rain showers on Thursday, with the likelihood of wintry showers on higher ground.
The outlook is for a very unsettled few days, with windy and showery conditions lasting into the weekend.
