Ireland ranks the very bottom of five of well-rested EU countries, new study claims

A new study has found Ireland to be one of the least rested countries in the European Union, reports Breaking News.

Ireland ranks 24th out of 28 European countries on the list, with Greece as the least rested European country, followed by Italy and the Netherlands.

According to bedroom furniture retailer Bed Kingdom, Slovakia is the best well-rested country in Europe, with Finland and Bulgaria in second and third place.

Factors taken into account are the minimum number of days of paid annual leave and public holidays, the maximum allowable number of working hours per week, the minimum legal duration of rest breaks, the annual working time per person, the daily and weekly rest hours, and the proportion of the population sleeping seven hours or more per day.

Slovakia turned out to be the best-rested country in Europe, scoring 86.04 points out of 100. In addition to the 28 days of paid annual leave, Slovak employees are entitled to an additional 15 days of paid public leave. Together with Lithuania, the survey has the highest number of public holidays of any country in Europe, reports Breaking News.
