Ireland to follow? German province bans all drivers with face coverings from wearing sunglasses and hats

A bizarre story is emerging from Saxony in Germany with local government officials passing a law banning masked drivers from wearing sunglasses and hats whilst driving reports RT.

The reason is practical from the lawmakers point of view and may have implication for Irelands speed camera vans and Gardai speed camera checkpoints as Drivers must be identifiable by traffic cameras used for speeding and other roadside violations.

“Wearing a hat and sunglasses in addition to a mask that covers the face and mouth makes [the driver] unrecognizable. So that’s not allowed,” Saxony’s Interior Minister Roland Woller said.
