Irish people in disbelief as government refuses to curtail investment funds buying Irish homes yet prioritizes housing migrants

The public are in a state of disbelief at government plans to phase out Direct Provision and house all illegal migrants in Ireland within months of them illegally entering the country as thousands of Irish citizens remain homeless and tens of thousands languish on housing waiting lists.

While the government refuses to act to prevent international finance from exploiting the country with vulture and coocoo funds buying up Irish homes en masse, they also plan to house thousands of people living in Direct Provision despite most of the asylum claims being bogus.

Recently, revelations that foreign investment funds buying Irish homes outbid public housing bodies “on more than 400 homes” in the last 4 weeks.

Last month almost all the residential homes at a development in Maynooth, Co Kildare and another 112 new builds are a housing development in Dublin were bought outright by a foreign investment fund.

Irish people are now contending with a rapidly diminishing market just as the country emerges from the economically catastrophic lockdown as house prices and rents sky rocket the government have made it clear, their priorities are profit margins of foreign investment funds and asylum seekers.
