In what’s shaping up to be a textbook example of a “Can you handle the truth” moment in the long running saga of The Irish People v Irish Water, the hapless utility is finally set to blow the lid open on how many households have paid their water bill.
After numerously unsuccessful attempts by Anti-Austerity TD Paul Murphy to get the utility to reveal the information, Taoiseach Enda Kenny has today said in the Dáil that tomorrow is D-Day for Irish Water, and we’ll all know the level of compliance among Irish people in relation to their water bill.
Mr. Murphy has previously highlighted the Government’s cagey attitude about the issue and expressed that the level of payment is so low that Irish Water would rather not embarrass themselves any further.
