Angharad Paget-Jones, a woman from Port Talbot in Wales took part in the #JustAskDontGrab campaign to highlight issues around approaching people with disabilities when offering help and assistance.
As a blind person with a guide dog Ms Paget-Jones recounts how she has been repeatedly assaulted by men posing as good Samaritans. She tells the Metro she once heard a group of boys saying “just grab her, she can’t see you anyway”.
Ms. Paget-Jones is speaking out after figures revealed that disabled women are twice as likely to suffer from a sexual assault.
She said: ‘Men have offered to guide me and they’ve grabbed the opposite arm and groped me at the same time. ‘It’s definitely on purpose because you don’t squeeze accidentally.”
