Kelloggs to launch new sugary snack/cereal targeted at children called “Together with Pride” to raise funds for LGBT+ group who want to “Queer up your morning routine by putting a little glitter in your breakfast”.
Last month, Kelloggs posted an Instagram photo of their new sugary snack/cereal they call “Together with Pride”. In their post Kellogs say “All are welcome at the breakfast table with our NEW Together with Pride cereal coming to shelves soon. For every box sold, Kellogg is donating $3 to @glaad to support the LGBTQ+ community”.
According to OUT.com, The bright purple box will feature recognisable characters from the rest of the Kellogg’s stable of breakfast cereals. Rice Krispie’s trio of Snap, Crackle, and Pop, a couple of Frosted MiniWheats, Toucan Sam, and Tony the Tiger gather around a bowl of the new fruity delight on the box’s cover.
Together with Pride boxes will be on sale at select major US retailers for a limited time.
Many on social media believe that Kelloggs is targeting children with this promotion with some saying:
“The LGBT+ branding is specifically mentioned on the boxes and many are questioning how parents of young children are to answer questions from their young children around sexual behaviours by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Queer groups. The LGBT+ branding is specifically mentioned on the boxes.”
