Wexford General Hospital has experienced a second Covid-19 outbreak in as many months, affecting certain wards within the facility, reports Breaking News.
Despite the outbreak, the hospital’s services remain operational, and visiting is still allowed.
Hospital management has stated that the situation will continue to be monitored and reviewed, reports Breaking News.
They are urging members of the public not to attend the hospital if they have respiratory or Covid-19 symptoms.
Mask-wearing may be required in certain parts of the hospital. Visiting will follow standard hospital hours unless in exceptional compassionate cases, reports Breaking News.
Visitors are also being encouraged not to gather in corridors, waiting rooms, or at the hospital entrance.
“The measures are temporary but necessary to safeguard the health of patients, staff and visitors,” added management, reports Breaking News.
A similar outbreak occurred at the hospital at the end of June, reports Breaking News.
