A Belfast man has tragically died after police used CS spray on him during an incident in Belfast city centre.
The news of the man’s tragic passing was confirmed by a Police Ombudsman who said: ” The man who became unwell during an incident involving police officers in Belfast City Centre this morning has died. “The incident, during which police officers used CS spray against the man, is currently being investigated by the Police Ombudsman’s office.”
“The office will release the man’s name in due course.”
It is understood the man died from the CS spray after police were called to solve a dispute between taxi drivers at the Grand Opera House at about 5am this morning.
Police say the man received medical attention before he was taken to hospital, but sadly passed away a short time later.
