The main players in the ticket touting scandal that has tarnished the reputation of the Olympic Committee of Ireland (OCI) beyond repair may face up to 10 years inside a Brazilian prison if convicted.

Such is the reality faced by disgraced ex-OCI boss Pat Hickey, and THG boss Kevin Mallon.

A Brazilian judge will decide in the coming days whether to accept or reject the case at hand.

If the case is accepted, authorities said that it may take up to 18 months to come to trial. It is unclear what the fate of the two men at the center of the controversy would be up to that point.
