There is a major rescue operation underway in the Alps, after a malfunction on the cable car system left 110 people stranded 3,000ft. up.
The cable car links France and Italy, passing near Europe’s highest peak, the Mont Blanc.
It is understood that guide cables became tangled in high winds, which forced the cars to stop in mid-journey.
Helicopters are being sent to rescue the stranded passengers.
