Met Eireann is today warning of widespread heavy showers of rain, sleet, and snow throughout the day today, with the risk of thunderstorms at times.
According to the national forecaster, the weather will remain very unsettled during Saturday and Sunday at least, with temperatures remaining in single digits today, but likely rising to double digits on Sunday.
Looking ahead, Met Eireann says that the coming week is looking milder than recent days, with good sunny spells developing at times.
