Not a shred of Spring in sight, as Met Eireann says Ireland may see snow on St. Patrick’s Day

The current spell of heavily unsettled weather is set to continue well into the upcoming St. Patrick’s Weekend, as Met Eireann has warned of the possibility of snow on the big day.

The run up to the weekend will be relatively mild, with temperatures reaching 12-13C at times, but a lot of heavy rain both on Thursday and Friday, particularly on Friday night.

St. Patrick’s Day is predicted to be bright at times, but very cold indeed, with the possibility of wintry showers at times.

Overall, the whole weekend is forecast to be freezing cold, with temperatures dropping to below zero after dark.
