Gardaí have revealed that a motorist was arrested over the weekend after he was caught driving on the luas tracks in Dublin.
In a post on Twitter, Gardai confirmed that officers from the Commercial Vehicle Unit arrested the man after he was caught driving on the tracks with an open can of cider beside him.
In the post Gardaí said: “Garda Commercial Vehicle Unit: The driver of this van brings a whole new meaning to the term “Rapid Transport” as he was driving on the LUAS tracks while having a jar !! Arrested on suspicion of drink driving !!!!!! Court proceedings to follow.”
