Oops! British Airways flight mistakenly flies to Edinburgh instead of Dusseldorf

A number of passengers found themselves landing in Scotland instead of their intended destination, Dusseldorf in Germany, earlier this morning.

Flight BA3271, operated by WDL Aviation on behalf of British Airways, flew to Scotland instead of Germany after a mix-up with paperwork at London City Airport, which the aircraft departed from at 7.30am today.

The plane landed in Edinburgh, was re-fueled, and flew on to the correct destination, where it landed over three hours behind schedule.

The safety of the passengers was not compromised at any time. The relevant authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.
