People face €2,500 or six months in prison if they refuse to wear face masks on Irish public transport from today

Things are about to get interesting in relation to how people are going to conduct themselves on public transport form today.

Face masks become mandatory on Irish public transport from today, and anyone not wearing one might face a €2,500 fine or six months in prison.

From Monday morning, commuters will not be allowed to board trains or buses if they are not wearing a mask.

It remains unclear who will police the situation, as unions yesterday confirmed that bus or train staff will not do that to avoid confrontations.
