People urged to do what they can as “worrying trend emerges”




The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has said that there is a worrying trend emerging in regards to the five day Covid-19 incidence rate.

Speaking about the rise in cases Holohan said that the five day case count is rising with over 400 cases a day.

The Chief Medical Officer who urged the public to do what they can to surpress the virus as a number of congregational settings have developed in recent days.

Holohan said that cases have begun to rise due to social gatherings and outbreaks have occurred due to funerals.

Although Holohan acknowledged that funerals are difficult time for families he urged people to what they can in order to avoid circumstances were it will promote the transition of the virus.
